Santoro Rubens

Santoro was born in Calabria, where from an early age he studied fine arts at the Academy. Later, he opened a studio at Granatello and made the acquaintance of Fortuny who became his mentor. He exhibited from 1871 in Naples and later was appointed Honorary Professor of the Royal academy of Fine Arts there. His work is in collections in Cincinnati and Turin.
