Maurice Levis

Maurice Levis was born in Paris and was a pupil of Harpignies, Jules Lefebvre and Billet. He painted both landscapes and genre subjects with a light palette and a good eye for composition. He was elected a member of the Society of French Artists in 1888 and received awards at the Salon in 1895, 1896 and 1923.
